Take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the section on Excel Settings and Conventions  before you actually begin working with the model. It will give you a brief overview of various conventions used in the model.  Understanding how the model works will give you a better understanding of why things work the way they do, and how the data is gathered, processed and presented in reports.
